Free Foxy Brown – Rapper and Music Entertainer

Looking for information about an entertainer that thinks and acts outside the box? Well, you’ve found her. She’s a rapper and her real name is Inga DeCarlo Fung Marchand, but you can’t really get an idea of what she’s all about until you realize her professional name is actually Foxy Brown. She’s not the first rapper to come out of New York and make it big. And speaking of big, she’s also not the first rapper to spend some time in the Big House.

As for Brown’s rapping career, she has put out some pretty decent albums, including Ill Na Na, Chyna Doll, and Broken Silence. However, her main claim to fame, and probably what she is more famous for, is her temper. She has an extensive arrest record. And if you’re asking the question, we’re answering it right now – yes, she has served time in jail now and again. I guess you could say she’s not the typical kind of girl you’d find fronting a live wedding music dance band.

Putting Her Music Career on Hold

In 2003, While the talented and beautiful rapper was working on the sequel to her Ill Na Na album, she left Def Jam, in effect cancelling the album altogether. In 2005 she returned to Def Jam and began working on the album entitled Black Roses. Unfortunately, just when things were looking up she had a setback. No, not more jail time. She began experiencing some hearing loss, which caused her music career to be put on hold until she could take care of the problem.

Fortunately, the ear surgery did the job and by the following summer she was back in the studio working on her album again. But to keep up with her reputation as a bad girl, Foxy Brown’s fourth studio album wasn’t released until 2008 due to, you guessed it, more jail time. After serving a sentence for assault, she was finally able to get things on track enough to finish and release the highly-anticipated album.

The Rapper Makes Headlines

Always in the headlines, and not usually for proper behavior, Foxy is definitely keeping her name out there. With headlines like Foxy Brown “Shows Up Two Hours Late for Court,” is “Kicked Off Cruise,” is “Physically Removed from Fashion Event,” “Flees After NYC Brawl,” “Busted,” “Lashes Out,” and on and on and on. Can’t blame a girl for not wanting people to forget who she is though, can you? Oh well, let’s hope she’s got her temper under control now and will be able to focus on what she does best: create some good rap music.
